Prints of photographs from some events, such as First XV matches, are made available for sale through my Photobox gallery. Each print sold has a financial benefit to the club.
You do need to be a little careful when you order through Photobox's online process. The photos are generally in a rectangular or square format.
Square photos: print these as 5 x 5" or 12 x 12". You can print at other sizes but part of the photo will be cropped out, and you will need to check the crop (see below).
Rectangular photos: these are sized to print at 6 x 4", 12 x 8" or 18 x 12". If you choose a different size, such as A4 or 7 x 5", part of the photo will be cropped out and you need to check and maybe adjust the crop (see below).
Size of prints: the photos should print well at up to 12 x 8". At larger sizes you may find that the quality reduces, but generally the larger you print the further away the picture should be viewed, and if so these quality differences are not noticeable.
Checking the crop
You should always check the crop before going to the checkout. When you have added a photo to your basket, you'll see something like this:
After you've selected the size of print you want, click the Advanced Options button. You'll see this:
Because 6 x 4.5" has been chosen, the photo doesn't all fit. Only the part within the red rectangle will be printed. To see this better, click "Crop this photo" or directly on the image and you'll see this:
You can now see the red rectangle, and the faded parts of the photo that will be cropped out. You can change the crop by clicking and dragging or by dragging the black square handles to change what gets printed.
Terms and Conditions
When you buy a print you agree to Photobox's terms and conditions. If you have a problem you will need to contact them and go through their returns and refunds mechanism.
Other products
Mousemats, coasters, placemats and T-shirts can also be bought with the photo of your choice on them. You are advised to look at the product descriptions on the Photobox site before buying them.
Special requests
If you can't get a photo to fit the particular size you want, or you'd like it in black and white, or retro style, or you'd like it printed on canvas or acrylic, or anything else, just contact me and I'll do my best for you. For example, if you want a 10 x 8" framed photo you will almost certainly have trouble getting it to fit. If you let me know, I may be able to produce a different crop that will fit better, and upload it for you to buy.
Please quote the image number, which you'll find on the mrfc.net gallery underneath the picture.
