TOUCH RUGBY RETURNS TO MEDWAY RFC
A full programme of Touch Rugby is planned for summer 2013. First is a "turn up and play touch rugby" taster session on Sunday 12th May at 11.00am. This precedes a charity match at 14.00 for the new club house fund, and the day also doubles up as a beer festival to mark the end of the current 2012/13 season. All club members are welcome to come along, participate and enjoy the day!
Thereafter touch will be played on Wednesday evenings between 19.00 to 21.00. More details are;
• 8th and 15th May – Warm up/practice evenings
• 22nd May – first week of eight week league programme
• 29th May – Half term – mini cup competition
• 5th/12th/19th/26th June and 3rd/10th/17th weeks two to eight of league programme
• 24th July – Summer holidays begin - mini cup competition.
Informal League Programme
To make this year's touch a little more interesting, we plan to run an informal league programme. The aim is to have at least three leagues of four teams. Each team in the same league will play each other every Wednesday, so each team will get three games every Wednesday. The top team of League 2 and 3 will be moved up to the next league for the following week. The bottom teams of Leagues 1 and 2 will be moved down to the next league for the following week.
Teams
A minimum of six players is required for each team and rolling substitutions are allowed and you are allowed to have up to a maximum of twelve squad members each evening. Teams can be of mixed gender and of any age down to a minimum of 13 years old.
Membership
A £10 per person registration/membership fee will be required before the first league Wednesday.
Social
Club house bar and food will be available on each Touch Wednesday.
