Watching these girls play with such passion and resilience was incredible. Every tackle, every try, every cheer from the sidelines showed what Medway RFC is all about—teamwork, determination, and heart. We couldn’t be prouder of what they achieved today.”- – Jen, & Lou U12 Girls Manager
On a drizzly November afternoon, the spirit of rugby lit up Medway RFC as young women from across Kent gathered for the 2025–26 Kent Waterfall Tournament. Twelve teams came together, hosted proudly by Medway RFC and organised by Kent Rugby, to celebrate the growth and strength of girls’ rugby.
The weather was classic rugby—muddy pitches and light rain—but far from dampening spirits, it added to the drama. The girls embraced it, turning slick conditions into opportunities for fearless tackles and spectacular tries. TREDS values were on full display: teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline, and sportsmanship. Players were even loaned between teams, and the side-lines buzzed with cheers from friends, families, and schoolmates, proving just how far women’s rugby has come.
For Medway’s U12 Girls, this was more than a tournament—it was a showcase of talent, determination, and pride. Playing three group-stage games, they triumphed in every match. Each player brought something unique to the pitch, combining skill, speed, and heart to deliver a flawless performance. They didn’t just play rugby—they lived it.
Behind the scenes, the effort was just as impressive. Coaches and managers stood proud, knowing these girls demonstrated everything the sport represents. Parents, siblings, teammates, past coaches and club leaders—including the Club Chair and Minis Chairs—lined the side-lines, cheering and supporting. It truly took a village, and together, Medway RFC pulled off an unforgettable event.
This tournament wasn’t just about scores; it was about community, growth, and the unstoppable rise of girls’ rugby. Medway U12 Girls didn’t just win games—they won hearts.
