Following the RFU's announcement that contact rugby will now begin on 21st September, we wanted to update everyone on what this means for rugby at Medway RFC.

The key message is simple:
Our season will still start as planned.

For our Age Grade teams, we will keep scheduled fixtures in place wherever possible, adapting them to non-contact rugby where required. Our priority is to keep players active, enjoying their rugby, developing their skills, and spending time with their teammates rather than losing valuable weeks of the season.

Our Senior Men's and Women's teams will continue their pre-season programmes, ensuring they are fully prepared and ready to hit the ground running when competitive rugby returns.

Men's & Women's Media Day
We're also delighted to confirm that our Men's & Women's Media Day will take place on Saturday 5th September. The day will include team and individual player photographs, media content, and training sessions for both squads. Supporters, sponsors, Vice Presidents, family and friends are all welcome to join us from 12pm. Come along, enjoy the usual Medway RFC hospitality, chat to our players and coaches, and spend an afternoon at the club as we build excitement for the season ahead.

Looking Ahead
We will continue to monitor pitch conditions closely. Should we receive significant rainfall and conditions improve sufficiently, there may be opportunities to arrange contact friendlies before 21st September where it is safe and appropriate to do so.

The season starts as planned.
The rugby continues.
Contact matches return from 21st September.
