We are really pleased to announce that Ricky Reeves will be joining Medway RFC
as our Head Coach.
Ricky is a highly experienced rugby professional with a playing and coaching
career spanning over 25 seasons at both professional and amateur status. Ricky
has played for grassroots teams, all the way up to Premiership level. Whilst
playing for Wasps, he was part of the European Cup winning squad in 2014. Ricky
is currently Head Coach for the United Kingdom Armed Forces 2023.
His approach involves growing individual skillsets, providing a supportive and
enjoyable environment, and developing cohesion amongst both players and
coaches.
Ricky is also a serving member of the British Army, allowing him to bring
discipline, respect and commitment to his coaching style.
Ricky says; “I am incredibly excited about this opportunity with Medway Rugby
Football Club. I have a great passion for growing and developing teams, so I am
looking forward to getting to know everyone and see how I can best help. In my
years as a player and coach, I’ve learnt a lot – both on and off the field – so I’m
thrilled to be able to share this knowledge and help the team to achieve the
success I know they’re capable of.”
1 XV Captain, Tom Beaumont says; “This is an exciting time for Medway Rugby
Club to start a new chapter with a coach as experienced as Ricky. Ricky has a
great foundation to work from, following incredible work and dedication from
previous coaches and club management.”
Club Chair, Tracy Bullock adds; “With Ricky on board, we can focus on
preparations for the new season, it’s a new and exciting era for Medway Rugby
Club and we’re looking forward to the new dynamic Ricky will bring to the team”.
