This Sunday saw our under 16 girls team head to Beckenham for an important league game against the cluster team of Old West Beccs. Hot on the heals of the Friday night lights (and party) it was back to business for the team.

The first half was hotly contested with both teams struggling to assert themselves and the cold damp conditions taking its toll on ball handling for both sides resulting in a stop start game and many scrums. This was reflected in the half time score with Medway scoring two tries to one by OWB, courtesy of Senna, and Anabelle C while Ashleigh slotted one conversion to make the score 5-12.

The second half saw Medway gradually exert themselves on the game and the score line as the forwards won the up front battles enabling the backs to run in the ball scoring three tries to one from OWB. Scores coming from Ashleigh x2 and Indy who also scored a conversion to make the final score 10-29.

While there were some things for coaches to work in training this was an important and convincing win for the girls securing the winning bonus point that could be invaluable at the end of the competition. So a result and performance to be proud of before a friendly game at home.

A special mention to our players of the match Back Ashleigh, Forward Anastasia and Coaches Sophie D.

Finally thank you as always to our parents for bringing the girls to the game and making all this possible.
