This weekend saw the Mighty Medway under 14s take on Beckenham away. In a tribute to International Womens Day and Mothers Day Naz Price took over the reigns as Head Coach. Anyone hearing the pre match speech to the girls could not have failed to be inspired, and indeed they were.
In the pouring rain Medway dominated all areas of the game in the first half with Beckenham having no answer to the power and pace being thrown at them. Amelia Massey scoring three tries and Tia Milliner adding another, Alex Turner slotted three conversions to bring Medway into half time leading 24 to 0.
The second half bought no respite for Beckenham as Medway continued to pile on the pressure and the rain came down harder. Our hosts did manage to score one try but Pheobe Elliot Bloomfield raced away from defense to score for Medway while Amelia Massey added another two. With Alex Turner adding the three conversions Medway ended the game the winners by 45-0.
This was a comprehensive display from Medway giving the assembled parents a morning to proud of and some hefty washing! Special mention to our player of the match Ruby Price forward, Amelia Massey back and Amy Head coaches.
Thank to our hosts for great trip and as always to our parents for making the journey it is much appreciated. #lovedandfeared
