The Crusaders (Medways 4th Team) are a side made up of a mixture of both youth and experience. The young up and coming stars of tomorrow do all the running whilst the older hands do all the talking. They take their drinking as serious as their rugby and attack both with equal gusto on the field and in the bar afterwards. For the majority of them Tuesday and Thursday night rehearsals are a thing of the past, once a week is more than enough. With some just starting their journey into senior rugby, others within a season of hanging up their boots and a fair splattering in between, the Crusaders are the social side at Medway Rugby Club and take nothing too seriously. When numbers allow, we put out a Crusaders 2’s (5th team)
We are very keen to make use of the new ‘Game on’ initiative from the RFU, in an attempt to get everyone involved in the group, as much game time as possible. We would be very interested in hearing from clubs that find themselves in a similar position with regard to match day numbers, to arrange fixtures throughout the season.
