Although August is not yet half gone, the Medway Academy have already been hard at work and Saturday’s pre-season against Deal and Betteshanger Colts was a good opportunity to see how we’d transfer what we’d done in training to the pitch. With an eager squad of 26 players, including several U17s who were making their debut for the academy, it was a competitive fixture. Under the leadership of Captain Tom, it was an excellent match with every man playing their part. Once Medway had settled into the match, they followed the structure and this led to so,e very well- worked tries. A brilliant performance from all that both helped the coaching team identify the bits we need to work on and convinced the crowd that this will be an exciting Academy season. Thanks to our opponents for making the trip to Priestfields and to everyone who came along to support.
